Extended Variation Mod adds some new faces to the Zone.
Extended Variation Mod 1.3 for CoC 1.5
CoC (pre 1.4) came with all SoC character models pre-ported to CoP engine but almost none of them were used by default. I just added Variation Mod texture variants to them and made them spawn around the Zone.
This addon has since grown with:
- over 100 new portraits for character creation
- various new outfit+helmet combinations
- new Ecologist guard variants
- SEVA and trench coat zombies
- hoodless sunrise and SEVA models
- multiple military models
- build Monolith variants
- optional better character model bump maps
and more.
A minimal CoP version of this addon can be found here.
Note: This addon does not add any HD model replacements to the game. If you are looking for some eye candy check out Ninja_Nub's amazing HD Models Addon.
Installation
Copy the gamedata folder to your CoC installation folder. The better bump maps also work without base EVM.

Is it possible to add the old zombied exoskeleton from SoC?
хорошо бы было видеть это в 1.4
Does this work with STCoP Weapon Pack 0.9 for CoC 1.3.20 (Official) and Outfit Addon 1.1.2 (CoC 1.3.20 and 1.4 RC 4.1)?
Yes
Smooth, thanks for the reply man!
Wow this mod looks awesome! Hoping there will be OWR compatibility soon! Thanks for this mod :)
It works with OWR. No compatibility patches needed.
COOL! Thanks for relying back :)
Hey VodkaChicken! I was wondering if this mod is compatible with the Warfare addon, so far its works, but when the trader spawns I crash
That's actually a common bug for me,what i do is go to other map before they spawn and after sometime i come back and there their are! :D
Ah thanks for replying bro! Yeah i thought about that but its pretty tough to get to the other map before they spawn xD
Small update. Added AO3 support.
Im having this error when moving to yantar.

Waiting for your reponse, because i need to continue my adventure.
Thanks for the report. You are using AO3, right?
I'll update the addon shortly.
You can fix it by going to character_desc_simulation.xml line 579 and changing "stalker_soldier" to "stalker_ecologist".
Thanks a lot for new patch! Btw it need new game, but this is not a big problem. If i see more bugs with AO3 ill report :)
Addon updated. See changelog.
It's great to see everyone working together to solve bugs, it makes my cheeki breeki heart glow.

How did you make the models, if you don't mind me asking?
All models are from vanilla CoC.
I just did some dirty retexturing with notepad++
Might have to show me what you mean because that sounds interesting
Open up a .ogf file in notepad++ and look for strings that start with "act\". You'll notice that they are just paths to textures like act\act_stalker_neutral_2.
You can change them to anything you like AS LONG AS the new filename is exactly the same lenght as the original one.
Do you think it will ever be possible to change your Avatar profile and character model respectively between pre-made choices of the faction you'll be starting in?
Player portrait changing is a thing in CoC 1.4. I think they also thought about a option that changes your portrait based on your outfit.
Character model changing is probably possible but I'd have to make models for every single face+outfit combination and I have no plans to do that. You only see your models face if the ragdoll falls in a specific way after death anyway.
Can it be used in call of misery?
No. I'll probably port it to CoM if it gets updated to the CoC 1.5 base.
You should check out porting it to Call of Misery or Last Day, would be nice to run as part of the LD pack for more variety, especially since most the HD ones crash with outfit addon
I finally got this thing updated. A huge thanks to the CoC devs for modularizing the char_desc files in the 1.5 update. Editing them should no longer give you (as many) suicidal thoughts.
The update is pretty huge. Here is a little preview: I.imgur.com Hopefully you guys like it.
Thank you, looks awesome!
Glad to see this is finally getting updated again, it was and will always be one of my must haves.
Might not be the right question for here, but will you continue to add more outfit related stuff in the future, even though your Outfit Addon got added to the base game in 1.5?
I'm not planning to do more outfit stuff at the moment.
Cool. Either way, thanks for the update on this mod. It adds a little more flavor to the game, I find.
Please take me to bed.
Will this be updated for 1.4.22 or even 1.5?
It works with 1.5
Hey there! Could you update this mod to fix a bug? "ask him to fix the gameplay xmls by using a replacement for stalker_merc_1" is what I was told by Alundaio in the bug report thread on TeamEpic's forums. "Duplicate meshes were removed in 1.5 many months ago."
Any possibility you could update it? I'm guessing such a fix is relatively simply to solve.
This was the original crash log:

Time for another update.

I will ask again, can you make the old zombied exoskeleton from SoC? It would be a nice variant to the game, because all of them are helmetless.
I guess I could add an option for masked zombies.
That would be awesome!
Is it possible you could make a 1.4.22 version as well? Or could this version work on 1.4?
es compatible la versión 1.4.22?
Woah, this is pretty great! I was afraid this would clash with the heap of mods that I've managed to get running and stable but it only asked to overwrite one file and I've had no crashes over around 5 hours of play. Great stuff, thank you!
I love the variations and the newly introduced models!
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! :) UUUUUUUP DATEEEEEEEE! 2018
I'm not entirely sure but it seems this mod duplicates all the Duty guards on both ends of the Bar area - looking towards the Garbage and towards Wild Territory.
I have models almost clipping into each other, as though a second soldier had spawned too close to the original one.
